Salt is hard on your car's engine and paint job. Here are some tips for keeping your car nice and detailed to avoid excessive salt damage:

  • Degrease the engine regularly

Driving in winter conditions will kick up road salt that gets all over your engine. When you go to the car wash/wash your car at home, spray a degreasing agent on your engine, and then rinse it off with water to keep it in great running condition.

  • Polishing compound/white vinegar/hard water spot removers

Hard water spots are difficult to remove from the paint shop at times, but you can start by rubbing white vinegar on the affected area to see if it comes off.

If the white vinegar doesn't work, try either buffing out the paint job with a paint correction compound/polishing compound or using a chemical product designed to remove hard water spots from cars.
