• Leave 4 feet of space between you and a bicyclist on the side of the road.
• Yield to bicyclists on the sidewalk. They could ride into a nearby intersection, causing a disruption in traffic.
• Pay extra close attention to kids that are riding bikes on the road. They tend to be unpredictable.
• There could be hazards on the road that a bicyclist will need to avoid. Make sure you're leaving plenty of space between you and them. Reduce your speed when you come up to them.
• Watch for their hand signals. This will tell you if they are about to make a turn.
